EduBud Believes In

  • We recognize that every student learns differently. By tailoring mentorship and tutoring to each learner’s unique strengths, interests, and pace, EduBud helps students build confidence and reach their fullest potential.

  • Learning thrives in community. EduBud fosters connections between mentors and mentees built on trust, encouragement, and mutual respect, creating a safe space where students feel seen, heard, and motivated to grow.

  • We go beyond textbooks. EduBud provides academic support alongside lessons in cultural awareness, empathy, and critical thinking, ensuring students receive a holistic education that prepares them to thrive in an interconnected world.

  • Mentorship is a two-way journey. EduBud provides leadership and growth opportunities for young mentors, equipping them with professional skills, empathy, and real-world experience that will carry into their future careers.

  • EduBud balances academics with enrichment. From literacy and math to art, music, technology, and movement, our programming supports both life skills and creativity, preparing students for success inside and outside the classroom.

Classroom Strategies

  • Learning what ways the student learns best by offering multiple ways to engage with material (visual, auditory, hands-on).

  • Celebrating progress, big or small, to build motivation and confidence.

  • Encouraging peer-to-peer mentorship and teamwork.

  • Maintaining structure while allowing adaptability for student needs.

  • Integrating diverse perspectives and experiences into learning.

  • Helping students take ownership of their growth by tracking progress.

  • No! EduBud International tutoring sessions are completely free for every learner (K-6).

However, we do encourage optional gift-giving as a way to foster meaningful connections and show appreciation to volunteer mentors. This is entirely voluntary and not a requirement for participation.

"Before EduBud, Aidan struggled to stay engaged in school. Since joining, I’ve seen a change not just in grades, but in confidence and curiosity. The mentors treat each student as an individual, and that care makes all the difference."

A.R, Parent

"Together, we work on a mentorship of trust and finding our potential. I’ve watched my mentee who was hesitant at first grow into a confident learner, and being part of that journey is so rewarding."

Founder Message

“Education should be accessible to every learner, no matter their background or circumstance,” says Clara Lim. Her journey toward founding EduBud began at Johns Hopkins University, where she pursued her interest in medicine while working in hospital departments and volunteering with Baltimore City schools. Through her work in the oncology department, she witnessed firsthand how transformative support could be. “I saw children undergoing chemotherapy struggling to keep up with school, and parents battling cancer facing far too many demands to focus on their child’s education.” It became painfully clear that access to learning was uneven—not due to lack of curiosity or ability, but because circumstances often left students without the resources or mentorship they needed .

Clara has been devoted to improving educational access and mentorship opportunities for students of all ages. Her experience spans working directly with children in underserved communities, guiding high school volunteers as a mentor, and supporting adults with disabilities through an enrichment program located in Suwanee, GA.

Clara’s commitment to education and service deepened during her Fulbright experience, where she taught and worked closely with students in diverse communities. Inspired by her experiences in medicine, education, and international service, Clara emphasizes individualized attention, inclusivity, and empowerment in every program she leads. “EduBud is about more than tutoring or mentorship,” she explains. “It’s about creating spaces where students, volunteers, and adults with disabilities can all grow, thrive, and feel celebrated for who they are—each in their own way.”
